(Ames, IA) — Iowa St. football will be looking to get off the losing train this week as they host Arizona St, coverage on KSOM.
Junior RB Carson Hanson came back from injury last week against the Cougars but he will be expected to take a bigger load against the Sun Devils because Abu Sama III is questionable with an injury.
The Cyclones have lost to Cincinnati, Colorado and last week fell 41-27 to undefeated BYU. Head Coach Matt Campbell is not worried about his team but does want to see his offense do more than move the football — they need to turn their drives into points
Junior QB Rocco Becht has not been at his best the last two games — 18-33 passing for 205 yards against Colorado with an interception and 24-36 passing for 311 yards against BYU with 1 TD and 3 picks.
October was not friendly to Iowa St. and pretty much eliminated the Cyclones from playing for a Big 12 title so Campbell is looking forward and not behind.
Arizona St. is 5-3 but has lost 2 of their last 3 and coming off a 24-16 loss to Houston. The Sun Devils have injuries just like the Cyclones but Campbell sees talent across the board
Arizona St.’s star wide receiver Jordyn Tyson is doubtful for the game with an injury but more importantly their star quarterback Sam Leavitt is out for the season — he was a player considered in the pre-season for the Heisman. Enter 6-4 Senior Jeff Sims who started his college career at Georgia Tech, spent one season at Nebraska and now takes over for Leavitt
Arizona St. 5-3, 2-3 at Iowa St. 5-3, 2-3, Noon Kickoff, 10 am Pre Game on KSOM.
