(Spencer, IA) — Sioux Center won both the girls and boys competition at Cross Country Districts at Spencer but Harlan will send their girls to state and Jeffrey Gross for the Cyclones qualified individually.
Harlan’s Ashlyn Rau finished 2nd at 18:38.6 behind Natalie Anderson of MOC Floyd Valley at 18:20.4. Julia Heslink of Harlan was 6th. Grace Berglund of Glenwood was third at 18:52.9 and qualified for state individually. Sioux Center dominated the team standings with 51 points with three in the top ten. Harlan finished in 2nd place with 102 while MOC Floyd Valley was third at 108. Bishop Heelan finished 4th only 3 points behind the Lady Dutch.
On the boys side, Jeffrey Gross of Harlan will go to state individually, finishing 7th place at 16:42.7. Sioux Center, Storm Lake and MOC Floyd Valley were the top three teams — Harlan finished in 8th place. Kevin Sanchez of D-S was 25th, Bryce Keller of Glenwood was 39th.
