(Atlantic) Atlantic sophomore cross country runner Mason Betts has consistently led the Trojans’ boys’ team this season with multiple top ten finishes. Last Thursday, Betts finished 9th overall in a competitive meet at Nishna Hills Golf Course in Atlantic. Betts toured the course in 17:11.14. Mason Betts is KS 95.7’s Armour Insurance Trojan Athlete of the Week.
Betts admitted it was probably one of his better races of the season.
Betts overcame some doubt after the gun went off in the race last Thursday.
Betts set some big goals for himself as the season winds down, with the conference meet, state qualifying, and state cross-country meet ahead.
The Trojans will compete on Thursday at the Hawkeye Ten Conference Cross Country Meet at Shenandoah.
