(Atlantic) In a dramatic finish to Friday night’s football game against Creston, Zayden Parker delivered a clutch pass with just 2.9 seconds remaining. His throw found Shelton Mualia in the end zone, securing a thrilling 29-27 victory over the Panthers. Zayden Parker and Shelton Mualia have been named this week’s KS 95.7 Armour Insurance Athletes of the Week
Mualia says they had practiced this play before, and it was called the “Hail Mary.”
Parker says he had two options.
Zayden admitted some doubts were going through his mind going into that final drive with 35 seconds left to play. Parker says it was his teammates who helped him get through it.
Zayden Parker finished the game, completing 7-11 passes for 107 yards. Shelton Mualia caught two passes for 45 yards. He also recorded 6.5 tackles on defense.
It’s homecoming week in Atlantic. The Trojans host Perry this Friday night.
