(Logan, IA) — Logan Magnolia’s football team ran into a tough St. Albert squad last week in their district opener and the Falcons won 42-21. The Falcons did not throw a pass all game and Avery Beck and Kyle Irwin teamed for 304 yards rushing. Its the first setback for the Panthers who had to use back up QB Brodie Davis because of the injury to Ashton Peszulik Davis did have a solid game going 18-29 passing for 182 yards and 2 TD and Head Coach Matt Straight was happy with the performance
Straight says there were too many breakdowns on the defensive side and they will need to be fixed because they are facing Westwood who also likes to run the football. Aiden Silbernagel leads the Rebels with 228 yards and Jarret Pritchard has 158 and Straight says they cannot afford another district loss
Westwood lost 46-0 to Woodbury Central last week but only trailed 17-0 at the half before the game got away from them — Straight says that Rebels Head Coach Cass Burkhart always has his team ready to play
Logan Magnolia 2-1 hosts Westwood 1-2.
