(Red Oak, IA) — On Monday evening, Red Oak won their own cross country meet with 23 points well ahead of Creston with 45. The Tigers had the top two spots with Emmanuel Grass in first place at 17:45.06 while Hayden Heitbrink was 2nd at 18:07.55. Osiel Pedersen of the Tigers was 4th at 19:21.56. Southwest Valley finished last in the team standings but Anis Akdar finished in 17th place at 21:51.12.
On the girls side, only three teams qualified for the standings and Clarinda edged Riverside 28 to 30. Creston earned the top two spots with Cora Smith 1st at 21:49.87 and Reese Strunk 2nd at 22:16.90. Bailey Richardson had the best finish for the Bulldogs in 9th place (26:03.31). Caitlyn Cruse of East Mills was 6th (24:44.20); Madelynn Schaaf of Fremont Mills was 7th (25:10.12); and Cate Horn of Red Oak finished 15th (27:08.12)
