(Des Moines) The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) today announced $35.9 million in workforce housing tax credits to support development in 36 counties across the state.
The awards will fund 63 projects expected to create nearly 2,000 new residential units — 1,217 in large communities and 752 in smaller towns.
Here in Southwest Iowa, the total tax credit of $381,675 will go to Vision Atlantic. Vision Atlantic Inc., a local nonprofit, will add 10 duplex-style homes in the Camblin Hills development.
–McCarthy Construction in Avoca, (total tax credit $216,000) for the Avoca Workforce Patton Street Housing. (6 units)
–Origin Homes 2025, LLC, (total tax credit $199,999) for Panora- Dream Acres Housing (5 units)
–MK Purple Martin, LLC (total tax credit $1,000,000) for Purple Martin, Shelby (36 units)
–WE Roost, LLC, (total tax credit $1,000,000) for West End Roost, Council Bluffs (89 units)
–First Avenue Freeze Out, LLC (total tax credit $1,000,000) for 30th & 1st Avenue, Council Bluffs (145 units)
