(Audubon) The Audubon City Council addressed a wide range of issues during its meeting Wednesday evening.
The Council approved the installation of a 4-way stop at the intersection of South Street and Leroy Street, along with a pedestrian stop at Leroy Street and E. Division Street. In addition, Ordinance #775 was passed, adding a yield sign on Brayton Street, requiring westbound drivers to yield at 3rd Avenue.
Council members also approved an amendment to the city’s sewer ordinances. Under the change, following sewer repairs, the City will repair the street where the work occurred at the cost of the property owner.
In other action, the Council approved the FY26 Regional XII COG Housing Trust Fund Grant Match of $1,000. The Housing Trust Fund supports low- to moderate-income housing projects, including the downtown second story project, a new home and a rehab home in the City.
The Council also welcomed Logan Thygesen as a new volunteer firefighter and appointed Bill Fankell to the Library Board.
Two items were tabled for further discussion: an ordinance regarding the number of occupants allowed in a residence and consideration of quotes for replacement of flowmeters at the Waste Water Plant.
