(Avoca, IA) — Wins were hard to come by for AHSTW Volleyball last year — only five to be exact and just one in the Western Iowa Conference. Head Coach Kelsey Fraher has seen some good things in the team’s scrimmages — only four players return from last year and Fraher says they will build this year’s team around them
Kennedy Wyman led the team in hitting last year with 146 kills, Kendra Hansen had 360 assists, Addison Carroll was 2nd on the team with 29 aces. All four of those players will play all over the court and Fraher will rely on two more to help on the defensive side
Overall, AHSTW has a young team — there was only one junior last year and she did not come out for volleyball this year. There are four seniors but none of them have varsity experience. Fraher is hoping this team learns quickly
AHSTW will open their season this Saturday hosting their own tournament with Atlantic, Earlham, CAM, East Mills, MVAOCOU and Riverside.
