(Audubon, IA) — Two Audubon FFA members earned awards at the Iowa State Fair. Carson Bauer who is a Audubon 2023 graduate won Champion in Window A for Performance Beef and Macey Bauer, a Junior at Audubon, won Reserve Champion in Window C for Performance Beef. The two are cousins and the Bauer family has had a long history of success showing animals at the County and State Fair.
Carson Bauer says there is a reason why his cow named Big Red stood out
Carson Bauer has been showing animals for as long as he can remember — he started out in 4-H and is still eligible to show in FFA. He decided not to college and instead is helping out on the family farm. Carson says showing at the Iowa State Fair is rewarding
Macey Bauer is 16 years old and her cow is named Black who is smaller than other cows but Macey says he comes from good stock
Macey helps out with the feeding of the animals on the family farm and one day wants to be a Vet Assistant or Vet Tech. She says its a big deal to take their animals from the family farm to the State Fair
Carson and Macey Bauer are now home from the Iowa State Fair but both of them are up for awards from Live Show but will not get the results until a week after the fair.
