(Anita, IA) — A new era of CAM football begins this year as Nick Kauffman takes over as Head Coach. The Cougars are coming off a 7-3 season making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Gone is the team’s starting quarterback and leading rusher Makade Paulsen but Kaufman will not have to look far for his replacement. Sophomore Zach Kaufman is the starter going into practice this season and Nick Kauffman says that Zach will bring a new dimension to the offense
Nick Kauffman says that most positions have experience except for two spots on the offensive line and two spots at linebacker.
CAM will be in 8 Man District 9 with Ar-We-Va, Audubon, Coon Rapids Bayard, Exira EHK, Glidden Ralston and Griswold. Kauffman says there is a lot to like about the new district
Kauffman says the numbers this year are up 8 guys and the move to Head Coach is different but the change has been minimal
CAM will have a scrimmage on Friday, August 22 against Lenox and they open the season on Friday, August 29 against Fremont Mills. Coverage of that game on KSOM.
