(Sioux City, IA) — The baseball season will end for one western Iowa powerhouse as Harlan visits Heelan tonight in a Class 3A Substate Final with the winner going to the state tournament, coverage on KSOM.
Harlan has been to state the last two years in a row while Heelan were the state runners up last season — both teams have been to state 20 times in their career.
The Cyclones beat Atlantic 7-1 and then crushed Clarke 12-2 in their playoff games and Head Coach Heath Stein will turn to Junior Jonas Reynolds as his starter who is 4-4 with a 2.98 ERA and won the game against the Trojans. Harlan Head Coach Heath Stein says that he’ll have to face a tough top of the line up for Heelan led by Hunter Wauhob

Both teams have players with state tournament experience, both programs have a history of success, the 3A state tournament is in Sioux City and this is the last season for the Crusaders long time Head Coach Andy Osbourne. Stein says they would be happy to spoil the party
