(Des Moines, IA) — Animal shelters across the area are expecting an influx of missing pets heading into the holiday weekend. Tom Colvin, Chief Executive Officer of The Animal Rescue League of Iowa, said fireworks and loud noises can be traumatizing for some pets.
Colvin says that pet owners should make sure that animals are as far away from the noise as possible.
Colvin says the Animal Rescue League of Iowa is already at full capacity in their shelters, and with the Fourth of July Holiday they are expecting to see an increase in the number of lost pets.
