(Shelby Co.) Shelby County will host a mini Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) event called Women, Water, and Wine from August 22 to 24, offering women a unique chance to enjoy kayaking, nature, and camaraderie.
Christina Roelofs, Naturalist with Shelby County Conservation, said the annual event, based out of Nishna Bend and Prairie Rose, is tailored for women 21 and older.
Campfires and s’mores are planned for both Friday and Saturday nights. Attendees are also encouraged to bring a bottle of wine—regular or non-alcoholic—to share and sample with the group.
Registration is now open to first-time participants, while returning attendees are asked to wait until July 12 to sign up.
The $150 fee includes a tank top, meals on Saturday and Sunday morning, snacks, kayaking transportation (if river kayaking is possible), and the forest therapy session. Free tent camping will be available near the nature center.
