(Audubon, IA) — On Monday night, the Audubon school board voted 5-0 to accept the invitation from the Rolling Valley Conference. Currently, the plan is to leave the Western Iowa Conference after the 25-26 school year and join the RVC in 26-27.
The move is not a surprise — Superintendent Trevor Miller had recommended to the board last month to make the move. Audubon will have the 2nd highest enrollment of the schools in the Rolling Valley as opposed to the lowest in the WIC.
Audubon joins Ar-We-Va, Boyer Valley, CAM, Coon Rapids Bayard, Exira EHK, Glidden Ralston, Paton Churdan, and Woodbine. If IKM Manning makes the switch as well, it would bring the RVC to 10 members. Paton Churdan does not play in every sport, however. West Harrison was a member of the conference but they planning on dropping full time athletics and will send their students to play sports with Missouri Valley.
