Coastal Carolina 7, Arizona 4
The Chanticleers broke a 4-4 tie scoring 3 runs in the 8th inning to take the first game of the College World Series. Trailing 4-2, Coastal scored once in the 5th and once in the 6th to tie the game. In the 8th inning with 2 outs, Wells Skyes hit an 0-2 pitch into the right field corner for a double. Caden Bodine was intentionally walked and Sebastian Alexander singled in the go ahead run — Alexander had struck out in all his previous three at bats. The Wildcats brought in their closer Tony Pluta but he gave up a 2 run double to Blake Barthol.
Oregon St. 4, Louisville 3
The Beavers scored in the bottom of the 9th for a walk off win in the first round of the College World Series. Oregon St. has not been in Omaha since they won the national title in 2018. With a 3-3 tie in the 9th, Aiva Arquette who is a projected Major League Baseball first round pick got his third base hit of the night with one out. Gavin Turley then drove a pitch into the left field corner and Arquette race all the way around the diamond and slid in just ahead of the throw for the game winning run.
