(Des Moines) The National Weather Service is forecasting isolated severe thunderstorms from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday in northern and central Iowa.
Severe weather is possible in the afternoon and evening, with heavy rain likely overnight. The primary threats are strong winds, hail, heavy rain, and localized ponding. Heavy rain is possible again on Thursday and Thursday night in northern and central Iowa.
Portions of Shelby, Audubon, and Guthrie Counties are on the southern edge of the forecasted intense storms.
