(Denison) An oil spill from a Denison car dealership is reaching the Boyer River.
Crawford County Emergency Management was alerted about the spill on Monday when a Denison City employee observed what appeared to be oil leaking from Wheels and Deals L.L.C. on South 15th Street. The fluid continued west on 5th Avenue south and entered a storm sewer in the corner of 5th Avenue and South Main Street.
While monitoring the situation, Denison Fire Department Officials found that oil had reached a storm sewer a few blocks from the car lot and later discovered oil in the river that same night. Authorities say the oil has been contained, but workers will continue to monitor the river for any potential impacts.
