Teen Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash in Jefferson County

(Packwood) A teenager was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Jefferson County on Thursday morning.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 17-year-old Ava Ford of Packwood was driving a 2003 Toyota Camry southbound on Packwood Road around 7:35 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, she crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 1999 Dodge Ram.

Ford was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Cranston Funeral Home.

The driver of the pickup, 40-year-old Clinton Weaver of Lancaster, Missouri, was injured and transported by Air Care to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

The accident remains under investigation.
