(Warren County) A Polk County man suffered injuries when struck by a vehicle in Warren County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 6:35 p.m. on Sunday, along southbound Interstate 35 and mile marker 62. Authorities say 42-year-old Eric Gene Randolph of Des Moines sustained injuries in the accident.
According to the report, a southbound 2019 Chevy Equinox driven by 62-year-old Dale Loren Acker of Greenfield fell asleep at the wheel, entered the west side ditch, and struck Eric Randolph, who was walking in the ditch. The Equinox continued through the ditch before stopping on the shoulder. Acker was not hurt.
Norwalk Rescue transported Randolph to Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
