(Anita, IA) — The CAM track and field will be sending 8 total entries to the state track and field meet this week. On the girls side, the Shuttle Hurdle relay will be highly competitive and the Cougars qualified with the 5th fastest time in districts and have the 4th fastest time in Class 1A. The prelims are one of the final events on Thursday and Head Coach Luke Symonds says they have some momentum going to state
Also for the girls, Courtney Follmann will throw the discus on Friday; the Sprint Medley relay will run Saturday morning but the real story will be Ada Hansen on Friday. She will run in the 100 Hurdles prelims first with the 6th fastest time in Class 1A and then at about 5:40 pm, she is the favorite to win the 400 Hurdles state title. Ruthie Rich will run in the 100 prelims on Thursday. For the boys, Kegan Croghan will compete in the 400 Hurdles finals on Friday shortly after Hansen’s run and Kayden Winther will be in the Long Jump on Thursday starting at 2 pm.
