(Grimes) The Iowa Department of Transportation (Iowa DOT) has announced an overnight closure of northbound Interstate 80/Interstate 35 between the Southwest Mixmaster and Iowa Highway 141.
The closure is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, and will remain in effect until 4 a.m. on Thursday, May 15, weather permitting.
During the closure, traffic will be rerouted using a marked detour that includes I-235, 100th Street, NW Urbandale Drive, and reconnects with I-80/I-35.

The Iowa DOT urges drivers to remain cautious in work zones, follow posted speed limits, and note that fines for traffic violations are at least doubled in construction areas. Drivers are also reminded to stay alert, maintain safe following distances, and always wear seat belts.
