(Dallas Center, IA) — A man flying an ultralight aircraft crashed at Husband Field Airport in Dallas Center on Sunday evening.
Authorities say Jerald Deimerly of Indianola was piloting the small plane when it went down around 7:15 p.m., but he was not hurt. The crash is now under investigation by both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board.
Ultralight planes are lightweight, single-seat aircraft that don’t require a pilot’s license under federal rules.
