(Griswold, IA) — The Boys competition came down to the final event at the Tiger Co-Ed meet on Thursday night but it was Riverside who edged the hometown team in the 4×400 relay to win the team title while Clarinda dominated the girls. Here is a team by team look at the meet:
Griswold Girls: Carsyn Adams won the 400 Hurdles (1:08.77), finished 3rd in the 100 Hurdles (16.96) and was 4th in the 100 meters with a season PR of 13.24 seconds. Addison Adams was third in the 800 with a season PR of 2:38.75.
Griswold Boys: Peyton Cook had a big night on the home track finishing first in the 110 Hurdles with a time of 15.12 seconds; he was 3rd in the 100 (11.42) and 3rd in the 400 Hurdles with a season PR of 58.06. Cook also got a win with the Shuttle Hurdle relay with Wyatt Silk, Auden Wilson and Bode Wyman at 1:01.94. Holden Jensen won the 2 mile (10:43.49) and Collin Bowers won the High Jump (6-02). Cody Dorscher was 2nd in the 400 and got a season PR in the 800 at 2:07.51 finishing third. Wyatt Silk was 3rd in the 110 Hurdles and Nollan Smith was 3rd in the 200.
AHSTW Girls: Bella Lamp did not compete in Griswold on Thursday night but the Lady Vikes won two relays — the Distance Medley got a season PR of 4:32.74 with Adaline McIntosh, Yana Lander, Ava Paulsen and Macey Goshorn at 4:32.74 and the 4×400 won at 4:15.43 with Kennedy Wyman, Emery Brockhoff, Paulsen and Goshorn. Brockhoff won the 400 with a season PR of 1:05.10. Paulsen finished 2nd in the 800.
AHSTW Boys: Luke Sternberg did not compete at Griswold and the Vikings ran a limited line-up. Collin Harder won the 800 at 2:02.39 which is a season PR.
Riverside Boys: The Bulldogs won four relays but no season PRs — the Sprint Medley posted 1:39.54 with Jaxon Gordon, Jett Rose, Dawson Henderson and Maddox Knoke; the 4×800 won at 8;47.09 with Brody Henderson, Owen Fenner, Cruz Jaquez and Kellen Oliver; the Distance Medley won at 3:50.21 with Gaven Hackett, AC Roller, Fenner and Dawson Henderson; and the 4×400 won with a time of 3:33.26 with Gordon, Keaten Rieken, Brody Henderson and Dawson Henderson.
Maddox Knoke won the 400 (51.05); Dawson Henderson won the 400 Hurdles (57.25); and Brody Henderson won the 1600 with a season PR of 4:43.08. Second place finishes went to Cruz Jazquez in the 800 (season PR at 2:02.55); Jaxon Gordon in the 110 Hurdles; and Owen Fenner in the 1600 (season PR of 4:43.50). Eli Hudnall was third in the 3200.
Nodaway Valley Girls: Maddie Weston won the 100 meter dash breaking the 13 second mark for the first time this season at 12.94; Weston was also 2nd in the 200 with another PR of 27.28. Izzy Eisbach won the 1500 (5:19.69). The Distance Medley relay knocked almost a full minute for their best time of 4:39.97 (previous was 5:34.07) with Weston, Haisley Zoubek, Kylie Nelson and Eisbach and finished in 2nd place.
Nodaway Valley Boys: Trent Warner won both throws (51-11 in the Shot Put and 145-00.50 in the Discus). Gabe Winklemann was 2nd in the 3200 and 3rd in the 1600. Eli Harris was 4th in the 400 Hurdles but cut almost 2 seconds off his time going from 1:01.77 to 59.97. Cassius Burnside was 4th in the 100 with a season PR of 11.67.
Southwest Valley Girls: Mackenzie Richards won the Shot Put at 34-03.25 and Ray Helvie was 3rd in the High Jump.
Southwest Valley Boys: Brody Crozier won the 100 meter dash with a season PR of 11.33 and was 2nd in the Long Jump. Wyatt Mendenhall was 2nd in the 400 Hurdles and Gavin Wetzel was 2nd in the High Jump.
