(Audubon, IA) — AC/GC had broken a school record in the 4×100 relay on Saturday at the Drake Relays; they broke it again Tuesday night. Joe Crawford, Brexton Schneider, Kaden Sorensen and Eli Madsen ran a 43.16 at the Audubon Co-Ed Meet which broke their previous of 43.25. That helped the Chargers to a team win while Tri Center won the girls title. More results team by team:
Tri Center Girls: The Trojans got 8 wins to help them win the team standings. The Sprint Medley got a season PR of 1:53.46 with Kaitlin Kozeal, Lucy Elesener, Jozie Payne and Tess Casey. The 4×400 relay got a season PR of 4:11.55 with Payne, Sophia Hazen, Isah Van Arsdol and Casey. The 4×800 relay won at 10:08.52 with Reese Dittmer, Quincey Schneckloth, Van Arsdol and Hazen. The Shuttle Hurdle relay won with Zohie Payne, Layla Meador Avilyn Killpack and Schneckloth at 1:07.79. Casey won the 200 with a season PR at 26.50. Jozie Payne won the Long Jump at 14-09. Zohie Payne won the 100 Hurdles with a season PR of 16.50. Dittmer won the 1500 with a season PR of 5:34.61.
Other highlights for Tri Center, Hazen was 2nd in the 400 with a season PR of 1:04.29; Meador was 2nd in the 100 Hurdles with a season PR of 16.97. Kaitlin Kozeal was 2nd in the 100. Addison Boden was 2nd in the 3000 and 4th in the 1500.
Tri Center Boys: The Trojans won a close race against IKM Manning in the 4×400 and Carter Kunze won at the line 3:31.20 to 3:31.29. The time is a new season PR with AJ Harder, Brennen Boden, AJ Peters and Kunze. Boden also won the 800 at 2:08.95. Haven Weers won the 1 mile and 2 mile with a season PR in the later (4:50.39 in the 1600 and 10:18.52 in the 3200). Kunze was 3rd in the Long Jump and 400.
AC/GC Girls: Ava Campbell won the 800 at 2:21.34. Cadance Petersen was 2nd in the 400 Hurdles with a season PR of 1:09.64 and was 3rd in the High Jump. Meranda Gruber was 3rd in the 100 with a season PR of 13.66 which is now fastest on the team
AC/GC Boys: Besides the 4×100, the Sprint Medley relay won with a season PR of 1:34.92 with Crawford, Sorensen, Dean Vela and Madsen. The Shuttle Hurdle race was close and while the Chargers lost to Griswold they set a new season PR of 1:01.84 with Morgun Nolte, Tate Fever, Tommy Skram and Schneider. Schneider also won the 110 Hurdles at 14.76 seconds which is a season PR by over 1 1/2 seconds. Dean Vela was 2nd in the 200 with a PR of 23.19; Tate Fever was 2nd in the 400 with a season PR of 51.49; Madsen ran the open 200 for the first time and was 3rd at 23.22. Mike Fuller was 2nd in both throws.
CAM Girls: Ada Hansen won the 400 (1:00.35 new season PR) and the 400 Hurdles (1:04.91). Ruthie Rich won the High Jump at 5-00 which tied her season best. The Cougars were 2nd in the Sprint Medley with a season PR of 1:54.21 with Brookelyn Steffen, Gracie Venteicher, Rich and Hansen.
CAM Boys: Carson McKee won the 400 Hurdles with a season PR by more than a second at 57.27. Colin Bower was 3rd in the 100 and 5th in the 400 Hurdles. Brayden Chester was 4th in the Discus.
Audubon Girls: Taryn Petersen was third in the 200 at 27.59; Marie Brand was 5th in the 400 with a season PR of 1:07.45 and Jaelynn Petersen was 4th in the High Jump tying her best at 4-08.
Audubon Boys: The Wheelers were 2nd in the Distance Medley relay with a season PR of 3:55.33 with Mason Kasperbauer, Logan Stetzel, Carson Wessel and Aiden Kjergaard. Kjergaard was 3rd in the 800 and Brody Schultes was 4th in the 400 with a PR of 54.02.
Griswold Boys: The Tigers won the Shuttle Hurdle Relay against AC/GC in a close race — 1:01.50 to 1:01.84. Wyatt Silk, Auden Wilson, Peyton Cook and Bode Wyman put up a time that is now fastest in the state in Class 1A. Cody Dorscher won the 400 with a season PR of 51.48. Peyton Cook was 2nd in the 110 Hurdles and 4th in the 400 Hurdles. Connor Bowers was 2nd in the High Jump.
Exira EHK Boys: Austin Rasmussen was 4th in the 1600 at 4:57.32 which is a season PR.
Other girls highlights
IKM Manning — Caylie Rasmussen won the 100 at 13.22 and the Wolves were first in the 4×100 and 4s200 relays.
Coon Rapids Bayard — Maddy Mason won the shot put
Greene County — Emma Ewalt won the Discus
