(Griswold, IA) Eleven teams were divided into two different classes and Griswold and Riverside walked away with team titles on Tuesday night. However, Bella Lamp set new season best times for AHSTW in two individual events including likely securing her spot in the Drake Relays in the 400 Hurdles. Plus, Lili Denton of St. Albert became the best 3000 runner in the state.

Griswold: The biggest event for the Tigers was the Sprint Medley Relay. Reese Laverty, Camille Dorscher, Amanda Houser and Addison Adams knocked about 4 seconds off their best time — going from 2:08.35 to 2:04.39. Griswold won four relays including the Sprint Medley, Shuttle Hurdle at 1:10.88 (Laverty, Bristol Wyman, Addison Adams and Carsyn Adams), 4×400 at 4:41.39 (Houser, Alexa Steinhoff, Dorscher, Sadie Gohlinghorst) and the 4×800 at 12:21.96 (Dorscher, Josie Millikan, Marissa Askeland, Steinhoff)
Individually, Addison Adams won the 200 with a new season PR of 28.00; Adams was also 2nd in the 400. Carsyn Adams won three events: 100 Hurdles (17.21), 400 (1:03.32, new season PR) and 400 Hurdles (1:14.62). Amanda Houser won the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.00 seconds even, the fastest anyone has ran on the team this season. Also Bristol Wyman was 2nd in the 100 Hurdles, 2nd in the 400 Hurdles and 2nd in the Long Jump. Marissa Askeland was 2nd in the 800.
Also in Class A, Grace Steinmetz of Heartland Christian won the 800 and 1500; Kiera Diehm of Heartland won the 3000 and Noel Cramer won the Long Jump. Jocelyn Tackett of Sidney won the High Jump and the Cowgirls won the 4×100. For East Mills, Shaylee Stinson won both the discus and the shot put and the Wolverines won the 4×200 and Distance Medley relays.

Riverside: The Bulldogs won five relays but their only season PR was in the 4×800 which finished 2nd. Elly Henderson, Sophia Fenner, Amaiya Less, Bentley Rone knocked off over 12 seconds off their best time — going from 10:40.90 to 10:28.54. Winning relays went to the Sprint Medley (Arabella Singleton, Olivia Lund, Kayden Schnack and Adaline Martens at 2:02.76), the 4×100 (Schnack, Martens, Henderson, and Veronica Schechinger at 53.17), the 4×200 (Schnack, Martens, Henderson, and Schechinger at 1:52.87), the Distance Medley (Singleton, Lund, Fenner and Rone at 4:39.73) and the Shuttle Hurdle Relay (Richardson, Lilli Reed, Hailey Harvey and Mackenna Dorr at 1:14.39).
Also for Riverside, Ayla Richardson won the 100 Hurdles with a new season PR of 16.93 and she finished 3rd in the 400 Hurdles. Sophia Fenner won the shot put at 37-05. 2nd place finishes went to Schechinger in the 100, Sophia Taylor in the shot and discus, Olivia Lund in the high jump, Kayden Schnack in the long jump and Lilli Reed in the high jump.
AHSTW: Bella Lamp continues to get faster and faster. The Sophomore set new PR’s in the 400 and 400 Hurdles. In the open 400, Lamp won with a time of 1:00.15 which is over a second and a half better than her previous best of 1:02.64. She ranks in the top 40 in the state. As for the 400 Hurdles, Lamp is now .06 away from the blue oval standard posting a 1:05.31 which currently ranks 4th in the state as this is written. Her previous best is 1:06.59 which ranked 14th which was on the Drake Relays bubble. Add icing to the cake, Lamp anchored the 4×800 relay to a win at 10:18.34 which is about 28 seconds fastest than their previous best time. Emery Breckhoff, Kennedy Wyman, and Ava Paulsen set Lamp up for a great run which is now in the top 50 in the state.
Also for the Lady Vikes, Loralei Wahling won the 100 at 13.51; Ava Paulsen won the 800 at 2:33.12; Addison Carroll won the discus at 93-03.
Other Class AA highlights
St. Albert: Lili Denton won the 3000 at 9:58.30! She became the first girl in the state of Iowa to break the 10 minute barrier in the 2 mile. Her previous best was 10:06.48. Denton also anchored the 4×400 relay to a time of 4:09.63 which missed their best time by about a second. Also Ellie Monahan won the 200 at 28.48
Woodbine: Adyson Lapel won the 1500
Red Oak: Jocelyn O’Neal won the Long Jump
