(Avoca, IA) — Last season at this time, AHSTW boys basketball was picking up the pieces from a 5 win season but Head Coach GG Harris turned things around this year with a 11-11 record. Two Seniors led the way with Luke Sternberg averaging 18 ppg and Camden Soukop at 10.9 points a ball game. Harris says this group of players improved from the beginning to the end
Sternberg and Soukop are the two starters leaving but Harris says the team really came together when Junior Collin Harder returned from injury and he may be expected to add even more next season
Other Juniors that will become seniors include Kaleb Jorgensen, Drew Lee, Chase Wheatley started six games, Ty Nelson started three. The Vikings also had freshmen Dayton Osbahr and Evan Harder see significant time and Harris hopes they can take a step forward
Harris says the biggest priority is for his team to generate more offense and that means getting into the gym and take shot after shot after shot. The complete interview with GG Harris is available at westerniowatoday.com
