Riverside, meanwhile, will send three wrestlers to the quarterfinals on the front end. At AHSTW, Henry Lund decided he didn’t want to spend too much time on the mat. And Lucas Bose looked strong for Underwood.

AC/GC: Gavin Sloss won his first match at 126 pounds 13-4 but lost to #5 Rile Watts of Lawton Bronson 14-2. Ryder Cline also got a first round win at 144 by fall in 40 seconds but lost to #5 Braxton Bowman of Central Elkader at 3:15. At 165, Angel Martinez lost his first round match by fall at 2:11. At 175, Jackson Pfrang lost his first match by fall at 2:56. At 190, Carter Richter lost his first round match to Caleb Christensen of Nodaway Valley 9-1. At 285, Jack Sheeder lost in the first round by fall at 2:14.
AHSTW: Henry Lund didn’t really get a chance to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the state tournament — Lund was finished in 28 seconds and easily moved to the quarterfinals. At 175, Kayden Baxter was upset by Zack Butler of Woodbury Central by fall at 3:45 and will try to come back in the consolation round.
Lenox: The Tigers have two wrestlers in the quarterfinals — Chase England at 157 had two wins today at 2:50 and 5:37 and Dylan Stein at 144 pounds won 9-1 MD. Wylie Brokaw is a freshman who lost his first round match at 150 pounds by fall at 2:15.
Logan Magnolia: Corbin Reisz is the #1 seed at 150 pounds and won his only match by tech fall to advance to the quarterfinals. Crosby Yoder is the 2 seed at 106 pounds and won his only match by fall in 31 seconds over Lawson Bendgen of Woodbine. At 126, Max Wingert won in the first round by fall at 1:26 but lost to #2 Rowdy Neighbor of Alburnett 14-4. At 132, Kaleb Kuhl won in the first round at 2:36 but lost to Aydan Groom of North Mahaska at 5:05. At 190, Aaron Cordell lost his first round match by tech fall. At 215, Carson Edney was upset by Hendrik Puraid of Manson NW Webster by fall in 30 seconds.
Nodaway Valley: Ashton Honnold and Trent Warner are both #1 seeds and they acted like it in the first round with first period pins — Honnold at 1:22 over Grady Joens of Underwood and Warner at 1:45 over Jace Pedersen of South Central Calhoun. At 106, Josh Nelson lost in the first round by fall in 36 seconds to Justice Norman of East Union. At 120, Ty Strode won in the first round by fall at 4:27 but lost 7-0 to #3 seed Brock Shaha of Mount Ayr. At 126, Keyin Steeve had a 13-5 lead but Kane Forseen of New London came back to win 18-15 in OT. At 190, Caleb Christensen won in the first round 9-1 over Carter Richter of AC/GC but lost to #2 seed Drew Lansing of Don Bosco by fall at 1:40.
Riverside: Davis Bramman had a big first day for the Bulldogs at 126 pounds, winning both his matches. The Senior pinned Kolbie Venice of Nashua Plainfield at 3:07 and then beat #7 Dallas Canoyer of Earlham 5-3 to advance to the quarterfinals. Drew Anderson is in the quarters at 132 pounds with a pin at 5:00 even over Cole Scanman of Shenandoah. Taven Moore is also in the quarters at 150 — Moor overcame a takedown in the first period to beat Preston Hunter of Beckman Catholic. At 106, Kingston Carrigan won his first round match by fall at 1:50 but lost to #7 Austin Etzel of Wilton at 5:24. At 144, Jaxon Gordon got a first round win by fall at 2:39 but lost by tech fall to Lucas Bose of Underwood. At 175, A.C. Roller won his first round match at 3:05 but lost in the 2nd round 13-5 to #7 Noah Henderson of Sumner Fredericksburg and will head to the back end. At 215, Caden Forristall lost his first round match by fall at 1:40.

Shenandoah: Jacob McGargill had no problems with his first match at 165, winning by fall at 3:26 to move to the quarterfinals. Likewise, Jayden Dickerson at 190 won by fall at 2:40 to advance in the front end. Cole Scanman won his first round match at 132 14-4 but lost to Drew Anderson of Riverside by fall at 5:00. Hayden Roush lost his first round match at 138 by fall at 1:42.
Southwest Valley: Ian Forsythe is the only Timberwolve wrestler in the field and the senior won in the first round by fall at 3:55 over Treynor Cose of Coon Rapids Bayard but lost to #2 seeded Jacob McGargill of Shenandoah by fall at 3:26.
Treynor: At 175, Zach Robbins had a first round bye and then beat Bode Stanley of I-35 by a score of 17-4. At 285, Maverrick Kalb lost in the first round 10-0.
Tri Center: Carter Gittins is the only Trojan in the tournament and he lost his first round match to Evan Jensen of GTRA by fall at 2:54.
Underwood: Avery Vacek at 106 pounds won his first match at 3:57 but lost to #8 Karson Wuebker of South Central Calhoun 19-3. Ryan Fletcher at 120 pounds won in the first round by fall at 2:48 but lost to Cooper Hinz of Jesup 12-1 MD. Dane DeVault lost his first round match at 138 7-0. At 190, Hayden Heun won in the first round 10-7 in sudden death but lost to #1 seeded Louden Huisenga of WACO 7-2.
