(Boone, IA) — The Iowa High School Athletic Association has released the post-season brackets for high school boys basketball in Class 1A and 2A. AC/GC and Madrid are two of the top two teams in the state and are in the same conference but have been put in different substates. AC/GC is the #1 seed in District 15 while Remsen St. Mary’s is the #1 seed in District 16 and both teams are in Substate #8. Coon Rapids Bayard and Woodbine are also in the same conference and are in the same substate — the Crusaders are #1 seed in District 13 and Eagles the #1 seed in District 14 but both teams are in Substate #7.
In Class 2A, Tri Center is a number one seed in District #15 and will play the winner of East Sac County or Missouri Valley. Hull Western Christian is the #1 seed in District #16 and in the same Substate as the Trojans.
Preliminary rounds in Class 1A are this Friday, February 14. First round games for 1A and 2A are on Monday, February 17. Second round games will be on Thursday, February 20. District finals are on Tuesday, February 25 and Substate finals are on Saturday, March 1.
Brackets for 3A and 4A teams will be released next Monday.
