(West Des Moines, IA) — The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released the playoff brackets for three different classes — 1A, 2A, and 3A. 4A and 5A brackets will be released next week.
Atlantic is a 3A team and is the third seed in Region 5 — the Trojans will host conference rival Clarinda in the first round on Saturday, February 15. The winner will face either #2 Harlan or #7 Red Oak who also play on that Saturday. The top seed in the region is Cherokee Washington who will host Greene Count. #4 seed Kuemper will host #5 seed Missouri Valley in the other first round game. Regional Semifinals will be on Wednesday, Feb. 19 and the Regional Finals are on Saturday, Feb. 22 with the highest remaining seed hosting.
In Class 2A, MVAOCOU is the #1 seed in region 7 with Treynor #2, Shenandoah is #3 and face Nodaway Valley. Exira EHK will play Underwood in the region. AHSTW will host West Monona and Logan Magnolia will host Tri Center in a pre round match up.
AC/GC is the #2 seed in 2A Region 1 with Eddyville the top seed.
In Class 1A, St. Albert is the #1 seed in Region 1 with Riverside the #2 seed — both have first round byes. CAM will host Griswold in Region 1 first round game.
