(Massena, IA) — The future of the CAM and Nodaway Valley school districts have been cloudy in recent months with the removal of Superintendent Paul Croghan last November. Last night, those districts started the process to find his replacement
At a joint school board meeting at CAM Elementary School, CAM and Nodaway Valley decided on a firm to choose the next superintendent. Two firms emerged as finalists — McPherson & Jacobson out of Omaha and Grundmeyer Learning Services of Des Moines. Chuck Kinzie of the CAM school board believed both firms had both CAM and Nodaway Valley interests in mind
Kristen Jensen of the Nodaway Valley school board says it will be up to each board to put in the time to look over candidates to finish the process in a timely manner
In the end, both boards settled on McPherson and Jacobson as the firm of choice. Each district will share cost 50-50 of hiring the firm. CAM and Nodaway Valley still have not finalized their overall contract to continue as a shared school district but there is clear intent to do that. The agreement is expected to be finalized before a new superintendent is hired.
