(Cedar Rapids) Iowa is ranked as one of the most challenging states for people to retire. According to a Sell My Timeshare Now study, Iowa is ranked the 4th most difficult state to retire in, as house prices in Iowa are up by about 240 percent. The study also said property taxes are among the highest, with residents in Iowa paying an average of nearly three thousand dollars annually. Mississippi was ranked 1st, while Alabama, Idaho, and Arkansas rounded out the rest of the top five. According to the study, Alaska is the least challenging state to retire.
