(Greenfield, IA) — Nodaway Valley boys wrestling will be shorthanded when they compete at the John J. Harris tournament this weekend in Corning. Senior Trent Warner had to injury default in the finals of the Creston Invitational when his opponent yanked his left knee and it pulled at a wrong angle. Warner will have an MRI to see the severity of the injury so Head Coach Brad Honnold will play it cautious and try to get him ready for districts
The injury default was Warner’s first loss of the season with 33 wins — Honnold says he had been dominant this season
The Wolverines will get back Keyin Steeve for this week’s tournament — the junior is 26-3 and has to miss the Creston Invite because he was sick. Ashton Honnold remains undefeated for Nodaway Valley at 32-0 and his dad and head coach says even though Warner is on the sidelines, the team should a big weekend in Corning
