(Madison County) A man from Redfield, Iowa, died in a single-vehicle accident in Madison County.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, they received a 911 call reporting the crash around 3:50 PM on Monday, occurring on the 1700 block of Pitzer Road. The victim, David Boots, 70, was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead after his vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment.
An investigation into the exact cause of the crash is ongoing, and a medical issue preceding the incident has not been ruled out. An autopsy has been scheduled with the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny.
Assisting the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at the scene were the Earlham Fire & Rescue, Madison County Ambulance, Madison County Medical Examiner’s Office, and Madison County Emergency Management.
