(Des Moines) A Des Moines man who was arrested in Illinois last fall for a shooting in 2024 is back in Iowa. According to the Des Moines Police Department, 26-year-old Cori Shields is being charged with two counts of attempted murder for a shooting in the East Village that injured two people. A 27-year-old man and 3a 8-year-old woman suffered serious injuries and were taken to a hospital. Shields was identified as the suspect, and investigators issued an arrest warrant. In October, he was taken into custody and returned to Iowa on Friday. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for January 21st.
