(Perry) The Perry Community School District is officially dedicating a gym to the former high school principal Dan Marburger. On Friday night, a dedication ceremony was held between the girls’ and boys’ basketball games, and the Perry High School gym was named the Dan Marburger Court. The former Perry High principal passed away after being shot by a 17-year-old student in January of 2024. The student entered the high school’s cafeteria, shot and killed an eleven-year-old student, and fatally injured Marburger. Police say he tried to intervene to protect students. Six other people were also wounded before the 17-year-old student took his own life.
