(Anita, IA) – On Monday night, the CAM and Nodaway Valley school boards met during a CAM special board meeting and the moved closer to keeping their shared agreement as a school district.
When both school boards met last November after the sudden firing of Superintendent Paul Croghan by Nodaway Valley, there was a lot of uncertainty as to whether the two districts would remain united as one. There were two issues that both sides agreed would have to be sorted out going forward, one was improved communication between the school boards and two a defined percentage of each district’s involvement in the agreement which would be figured out using the current contract. CAM school board member Todd McKee says there are a lot of pros for the two to continue working together
Next Wednesday, January 15, the Nodaway Valley school board will meet to interview various firms to find a new superintendent. Four of the five CAM school board members will be in attendance and participate in the process. Another joint school board meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, January 22 in Massena to either formaize a new contract for the district or dissolve.
