(Council Bluffs) A Pedestrian died when struck by a vehicle on Interstate 80 in Pottawattamie County.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 12:10 a.m. today at the 11-mile marker on eastbound Interstate 80. The victim is identified as 51-year-old Michael Ponciano, of Bellevue, Nebraska.
According to the report, an eastbound 2014 Toyota pickup driven by 48-year-old Chantell Williamson of Bourbonnais, Illinois came upon Ponciano standing in the travel portion of I-80 in the left lane. The Toyota struck Ponciano with the front passenger side corner of the pickup.
The Cutler-O’Neil Funeral Home transported Ponciano to the State Medical Examiner.
