(New York, NY) — Nebraska is in New York City getting ready for the Pinstripe Bowl this Saturday against Boston College. The Huskers have had a number of players leave via the transfer portal including running backs Dante Dowdell and Gabe Earvin Jr. Dowdell has already signed with Kentucky while Earvin is still looking. Nebraska had used a committee approach this year but now Sophomore Emmett Johnson will have to handle the load while Senior Rahmir Johnson will be playing in his last game and Freshman Kwinton Ives will get more carries. Head Coach Matt Rhules likes his guys but is open to adding through the portal
The offensive line survived the portal — only back up Jacob Hall who only played in two games decided to leave but the Huskers will lose seniors. Rhule believes he will see players on the roster will improve
The offensive line will have to be at its best against BC Saturday — the Golden Eagles strength is up front on the defensive line led by Donovan Ezeiruaku (EE–zye–u–raku) who Rhule says is an absolute stud
Overall, Rhule says they are not in New York to build for the future or develop players, they are there to win
Nebraska (6-6) faces Boston College (7-5) this Saturday in the Pinstripe Bowl from Yankee Stadium, kickoff 11 am, televised by ABC.
