(Washington, DC) — Iowa’s four U.S. representatives are voting to keep the federal government operating. The four Republicans voted in favor of the latest spending bill on Friday, which was later signed by President Biden to avoid a government shutdown. The measure includes 30-billion dollars for farmers, which 1st District Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks said was a major reason for her supporting the legislation. Third District Rep. Zach Nunn said he voted for the bill because Iowa’s family farms “are the backbone of America.”
