(Neola) A Minnesota man suffered serious injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 near Neola.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper and Public Information Officer Ryan DeVault tells KSOM/KS95 News the accident happened on Monday at 7:15 a.m. on westbound Interstate 80 near the 29-mile marker. The driver, identified as 63-year-old Michael Knuutti of Ely, Minnesota, was airlifted to Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha for treatment of injuries.
Trooper DeVault says Knuutti was driving a westbound 2004 Ford Ranger when it went out of control, slid into the median, struck a guardrail, and came to a stop on its wheels. The crash partially blocked the inside line while rescue crews attended to the crash.
