(Washington County) An Iowa county wants to restrict wind turbines to at least a mile away from schools, libraries, and churches. The Washington County Board of Supervisors is approving a first reading of an ordinance that would impose restrictions on new wind turbines in unincorporated parts of the county. They say they’re trying to address public concerns about the impact of wind turbines on the environment, property values, and the rural landscape.
