(Undated) — A doctor is giving advice on what toys to avoid for young children for safety reasons this holiday season.
December is National Safe Toys and Gifts Month. Adam Keating, a pediatrician for the Cleveland Clinic, says any part of a toy can fit through a toilet paper roll, is a choking hazard for children under the age of three. Toys with magnets and button batteries are a concern as well because a child can swallow them. He says children should avoid playing with toys with sharp edges and anyone buying an electric scooter for their children should buy a helmet along with it.
More than 150-thousand children under 12 were treated at the ER this past year for toy-related injuries.
