(Guthrie Center, IA) — With rising food costs, the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors made it a little easier to feed senior citizens in the county.
The Supervisors today approved an increase in budget spending for Elderbridge which is an organization that provides older citizens a number of different services including meals that can be delivered to the homes. Supervisor Maggie Armstrong
Armstrong says the increase was only slight but were needed because food costs are going up
According to the official report, Elderbridge provided $28.35 of services to seniors in Guthrie County for every one dollar of county funds received. To make up the difference, Elderbridge gets state and federal funding and donations. The Board voted 5-0 to approve the increase.
