(Audubon) The Audubon County Board of Supervisors approved the first reading of a resolution declaring EMS an essential service and setting forth a funding mechanism.
Audubon County Emergency Management Coordinator Tyler Thygesen says this is the first step, and the next step will be forming an advisory board. He says the board will consist of a representative from the fire department or EMS provider from each city in the county, an elected official from each town, a member of the board of supervisors, public health, emergency management, and one representative from the hospital.
Thygesen says his next goal is to get the planning piece together.
The resolution must pass three readings before it is officially approved. The supervisors will act on the second reading at the December 10 meeting and the third reading on December 17.
In other business, the supervisors accepted the resignations of the Sheriff’s Office Administrative Assistant and Dispatcher/Jail and approved the resignation of the Audubon County Auditor Clerk.
