(Washington, DC) — U.S. Fish and Wildlife is proposing parts of six states be designated as critical habitat for the Rusty Patched Bumblebee, including 45-thousand acres in Iowa.
An underground nest of the endangered bee was confirmed in Iowa City this fall. They used to be common in 28 states, now just seven.
