(Undated) — Triple-A’s expecting a record number of travelers on the road this Thanksgiving week. Traffic will pick-up as early today.
“Some schools get out on Tuesday, some get out on Wednesday, so that’s going to alter your traffic flows in town and some businesses even close potentially early on Wednesday,” said Brian Ortner with Triple-A.
Ortner has some advice for travelers this Thanksgiving, “Rush hour traffic on those days before the holiday between 1:00 and 7:00 p.m. are probably your worst travel times, so if you can get on the road in the morning it’s going to be to your advantage.”
He says some Thanksgiving travelers will take an extra day and return on Monday, December 2nd. He reminds drivers that it may be best to get an early start.
