(Atlantic, IA) — So far we looked at the Juniors and Seniors of Atlantic Boys Wrestling — now its Part three and the Sophomores. Head Coach Tim Duff had to — in his words — throw some kids to the fire last year because of lack of numbers. Carter Hadley was moved all over the line up and Duff credits him with dealing with that adversity of having to switch weight classes for the team
Collin Harris should have been wrestling at 106 pounds but moved up last year and nearly made it to state — Harris finished an impressive 40-15 as a freshman combined between JV and Varsity and lost in the wrestleback round at districts
Duff says there are three other sophomores including Jayden Harter and Kalvin Hayes who also lost in the wrestle back round a year ago
Duff says there are some upcoming freshmen who wrestled at Junior High last year who will attempt to fight their way into the line-up. Atlantic opens their season on December 5 with a duel at Earlham. Parts 1 and 2 of our preview on the Seniors and Juniors are on our website at westerniowatoday.com
