(Afton) A Union County woman suffered injuries in a car-deer accident in Union County.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened around 5:30 p.m. on Highway 34 near the 92-mile marker. Authorities say ground ambulance transported the driver, 49-year-old Marie Kaye Dukes of Afton, to the Greater Regional Hospital in Creston.
According to the report, Dukes was driving a 2017 Nissan Murano eastbound on Highway 34 when the deer bolted out of the ditch. The SUV struck the deer, deploying both airbags.
