(Cass Co.) The 2024 season of Cass County’s “Grow Another Row” program has wrapped up another fruitful year, fostering community connection and supporting local food access. Community Wellness Coordinator Grace McAfee said the program brought together farmers, gardeners, and volunteers across the county, creating a spirit of generosity that has positively impacted the community.
As cooler weather arrives, some produce stands are being stored for winter, though several will remain available until the first snowfall. McAfee encourages residents to continue using these stands and reminds those donating produce to be mindful of potential overnight frosts to keep contributions fresh.
The Grow Another Row Committee extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed this season. Throughout the year, community members shared photos of fresh, locally grown produce being placed at stands, a testament to the initiative’s impact and the community’s collective generosity.
“We’re already looking forward to 2025,” McAfee shared. “We’re eager to build on this year’s success, further engaging the community and supporting local food security efforts.” Those interested in learning more about the program or joining the 2025 season can visit Cass County’s extension website or email McAfee at mcage@casshealth.org to receive updates, gardening tips, and recipes.
